Yuma Regional Medical Center delivers first baby of the new year

Healthy baby born to a local couple

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Doctors with the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) have announced the hospital's first birth of 2022.

Kaylee Isabelle Martinez was welcomed Saturday morning by locals Diandra and Richard Martinez. 

The bundle of joy weighs 7 pounds and 9 ounces. 

YRMC staff reports that baby Kaylee is doing well.

Congratulations to the Martinez family!

To add to the community joy, the first baby born in 2021, one-year-old Anistyn Rice, returned to YRMC with her parents Lisa and William, along with three sisters. The Rice family congratulations the Martinez family with a gift for baby Kaylee.

Due to COVID-prompted visitor restrictions, Anistyn and the newborn were not able to meet in person. However, thanks to technology, the Martinez family was able to thank the Rice family.
