BP: Yuma agents catch more than 2,700 migrants within a couple of days

Numbers reflect weekend stats into Monday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The U.S. Border Patrol reports agent have caught over 2,700 undocumented migrants within a matter of four days.

Chief Patrol Agent Chris T. Clem confirmed the illegal entry of these unauthorized entrants Tuesday saying, "Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 2,700 migrants who illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico from Friday through Monday."

Clem said Saturday had three large groups of 42, 52 and 80 people attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally; two groups of 50 and 53 on Sunday; and three groups of 93, 45, and 79 on Monday.
