Officer Involved Shooting in Calexico
CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - A man has been shot near the corner of Paulin Avenue and Third Street, according to Calexico Police. CPD tells News 11 he was taken to a nearby hospital.
The scene is still under investigation. Detectives even had a drone hovering above around 8:30 p.m. Monday night. Stay with KYMA to follow developments regarding the case.
Witnesses tell us that two men were in an altercation and ultimately police were called. They say the unidentified man who was shot had a weapon and was not complying when asked to drop it and that’s when witnesses say police opened fire. That again, only according to witnesses. News 11 is working to confirm their accounts.
