More than 6 million doses of vaccines administered in Arizona
PHOENIX (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona state officials say it has administered more than 6 million doses of COVID -19 vaccine since December 2020.
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) says nearly 3.4 million Arizonans received at least one dose and 2.9 million are now fully vaccinated.
“Arizona has reached another major milestone with our six millionth dose of COVID-19 vaccine administered,” said Governor Ducey. “This is the result of hard work by so many ‒ nurses, doctors, pharmacists, staff, volunteers, and more. Arizona is proud of the success so far, and we’re committed to keeping up the momentum.”
“It’s never been easier to protect yourself and your community by rolling up your sleeve,” ADHS Director Dr. Cara Christ said. “Vaccination is safe, highly effective, free, and available by walking in at hundreds of locations across the state.”
Last week, state officials announced state-run vaccination sites would be closing down on Monday, June 28.
