AWC to allow two guests per student at graduation

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Western College (AWC) will be holding its two in-person ceremonies this year, May 13 and May 14.

AWC said it's holding a two day ceremony to reduce crowd sizes.

The ceremony will be at the Veterans Memorial Stadium located at 7150 E. 24th Street both days at 7:30 p.m. Graduates are limited to two guest tickets per graduate and will be seated six feet apart. In addition, AWC will Livestream the graduation page here.

On May 13, AWC will celebrate graduates earning an Associate of Arts, Associate of Business, Associate of General Studies, and Associate of Applied Science (A-C).

AWC will also celebrate nursing students, graduates of local Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.

For May 14, graduates earning an Associate of Applied Science (degrees D-1) and specific major degrees will be honored.

“In my 31 years in education, these are the two graduations that I will be looking forward to the most. When you think of everything these graduates have had to go through during this pandemic, they have all overcome so much. These students deserve this opportunity to be celebrated and they deserve all the accolades they will receive,” said AWC President Dr. Daniel Corr.
