Mom with coronavirus gives birth in SLRC
HERMOSILLO, Sonora (KYMA, KECY)- A 23-year-old woman with the coronavirus from San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, gives birth to baby boy Wednesday morning.
Health officials say the mother is in good health and will remain isolated from her baby.
Officials report 119 new COVID-19 cases and 17 new deaths.
As of Wednesday evening, Sonora has 1,928 confirmed cases and 156 deaths.
The new cases were reported in the following cities; Hermosillo 56, Nogales 36, SLRC 10, Cajeme 5, Agua Prieta 3, Navojoa 2, Cananea 2, Guaymas 1, Onavas 1, Santa Ana 1, Caborca 1, Nacozari de Garcia 1.
The new deaths were reported in the following cities; SLRC 5, Hermosillo 5, Nogales 2, Cajeme 2, Navojoa 2, Caborca 1.
Hermosillo continues to take the lead with the most cases. However, SLRC is the city with the most deaths.
Since March 16, 4,526 people have been tested for the virus, 199 remain hospitalized, 162 are in serious condition, 1,341 have mild symptoms, and 232 have recovered.
