SLRC cases at 58, reflecting statewide trend
Six new cases in SLRC overnight
SAN LUIS, RIO COLORADO, Sonora. (KYMA, KECY) - The Sonoran Secretary of Health confirmed new cases Saturday evening, bringing the statewide total to 133.
Now at 58, SLRC leads the state by a wide margin. The city was just over 50 cases Saturday morning.
In a press conference, Enrique Clausen Iberri, the Sonora Secretary of Health, announced these new cases are between the ages of 35 and 66.
None are travel-related, indicating the cases are community-spread. Iberri says all new patients are in isolation.
Iberri also announced two more deaths in Sonora, bringing the total to 16.
The first was as 62-year-old resident of Caborca, Mexico. Iberri said her conditon rapidly deteriorated as she had underlying health conditions. She first reported symptoms on April 11, passing away en-route to a hospital in Hermosillo on April 15.
The second was a 68-year-old Hermosillo resident. She too had underlying health issues, including diabetes.
This patient began with breathing problems on April 14, causing her to immediately need a ventilator. She died on Friday, April 17.
Of the total deaths in Sonora, 12 are women and 4 are men, health officials say.
Four of these deaths are from San Luis Rio Colorado. All had underlying health conditions.
