Woman celebrates 100th birthday by going to jail
(KYMA, KECY)- A North Carolina woman checked an item off her bucket list for her 100th birthday, heading to jail in handcuffs.
NBC News reports the woman's friends and family gathered to celebrate her birthday.
However, they had no idea there would be a slight delay in her birthday cake tradition when deputies arrived at the woman's home and accused her of indecent exposure during a recent visit to the Roxboro Fire Department.
Reports say the woman, Ruth Bryant, was in on the plan including the charge leveled against her.
Feisty Bryant 'fought' her arrest, playfully kicking at Roxboro deputies, who threatened to add resisting arrest and assault to the charges.
"Don't kick me; I've got a bad knee!" said the deputy, to which Bryant boastfully replied, "I've got two bad knees!"
WRAL News reports the woman spent a few minutes in her jail cell and came home to the gift she always wanted: an orange suit.
"I'm in the jailhouse now! I finally got here!" laughed Bryant, dancing to her own song and showing people how to live life like no one's watching.
