Foul play suspected after body found in canal in SLRC
SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Mexico (KYMA, KECY)- A man's body was recovered Tuesday in a canal in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico.
La Tribuna de San Luis reports the body was found at the end of Calle 36, south of the city. Officials say it appears the body was tortured, showing signs of strangulation and head injury.
Police have yet to identify the man's body but say he is tall, bald, light complexion, and was roughly 35 years old. Police say the victim had a big Virgen de Guadalupe tattoo with the name "Pablo" on it.
A 911 call led to the discovery of the body Tuesday morning. With the help of firefighters and the Sonora Rescue Corps, they managed to extract the body from the water.
Police continue to investigate.
