January 6th Committee postpones request for Trump records

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - The House Select Committee investigating the January 6th insurrection is postponing its request for some records from the Trump White House.

The move suggests the Committee may be paring back the number of documents it’s pursuing, possibly due to a potentially lengthy court battle that former President Donald Trump has launched claiming executive privilege.

The national archives said Wednesday it plans to turn over more than 700 pages of documents to congress next month.

They say Trump would need a court order to prevent those documents from being turned over and a court hearing is set for next week.
