CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Car crashes into hair salon in Florida

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - A Florida couple is lucky to be alive after a car crashed through a hair salon and slammed into them while they were standing at the checkout counter.

Dramatic security camera video capturing the terrifying incident at Zinke Hair Studio in Jacksonville Saturday, October 10.

Aubrey Simpson-Gotham and her husband, Stephan Simpson, say they had little time to react when they suddenly heard a loud crash and then saw a car barreling toward them.

Simpson-Gotham suffered head lacerations that required four stitches and had to be treated at the hospital for anxiety, while Stephan says his ribs continue to hurt after the crash.

The couple said it's a miracle they survived.

The crash also caused extensive damage to the salon and remained closed Monday while the owner assesses the damage.

The Jacksonville County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
