Inflation report shows consumer prices are up more than 3% compared to last year

(CBS, KYMA) - The rising prices are changing the way Americans shop for groceries.

A new poll from "The Kitchen Table Project" and "Global Strategy Group" found 67% of Americans say grocery prices are unfair.

To alleviate some of the pain, 78% are buying more store brands, 72% are using coupons and loyalty programs and 67% are buying fewer snacks and nonessential items.

The Kitchen Table Project has three proposals it said could save Americans more than $1,000.

First, end many of President Donald Trump's tariffs and deliver the savings back to consumers. Second, stop corporate pricing tricks like shrinkflation, and third, launch affordable grocery partnerships to secure discounts on grocery items for certain groups.
