Gloria Steinem’s memoir released posthumously

(CBS, KYMA) - "An Unexpected Life," the final memoir by the late journalist, activist, and feminist icon Gloria Steinem was released Tuesday.

In the memoir, Steinem opens up about pivotal moments in her childhood that led her to six decades of activism, and shares stories about living in India and learning from the nonviolent movement there.

She also talks about the people who influenced her, including trailblazers, writers, and thinkers.

There is also an audio book where Steinem addresses her readers saying, "This book is about my journey. We all look to oth­ers for help and companionship as we discover both our uniqueness and our commonality. We are travelers on a mysterious path, and only one thing is clear: We need one another."

Steinem passed away earlier this month. She was 92-years-old.
