Released video shows military strike on a suspected drug trafficking boat

(NBC, KYMA) - CENTCOM has released a video showing another military strike on a suspected drug trafficking boat in the Pacific.

Officials say the strike happened Sunday and that the kinetic strike killed two people on board.

According to data compiled by NBC news, this was the 67th strike involving 68 boats.

215 people have now been killed, with 11 surviving similar strikes.

The Trump administration alleges people on suspected drug boats are unlawful combatants. It claims the U.S. is in an armed conflict with them and can kill them without judicial review.

Critics say suspected narco-traffickers on vessels should face prosecution.

Senator Tim Kaine says classified information suggests the strikes have illegally killed people not involved in the drug trade.

He's a member of the armed services committee.
