Dolly Parton provides update on her health

(NBC, KYMA) - Dolly Parton has revealed she has been through "hard times with my health."

People.com published a story which quotes Parton saying, "I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn't pay attention to when I was watching over Carl."

Carl, her late husband, died in March of last year.

The news comes about a week after Parton, 80, announced a new ride at Dollywood, her amusement park, on video rather than attending the event in person.

The announcement was at her theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and she told People.com her doctors advised her against making the trip.

Despite the health concerns, Parton is still busy. She recently announced a new museum in Nashville which, according to the museum's website, will have the "largest exhibit celebrating her life anywhere in the world."
