Suspended Palm Beach County Clerk of Court, accused of child sex abuse, appears in court

BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - No bond was set for suspended Palm Beach County Clerk of Court Michael Caruso, who is accused of child sex abuse crimes.

During an appearance at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex Wednesday morning, the judge ordered a recheck date for September 2, giving Orange County officials two weeks to pick up Caruso for transport.

According to court documents, the five felony charges against him stem from allegations involving multiple incidents with a child victim spanning nearly a year, including incidents during a family cruise in August 2025.

Court documents say Caruso made partial admissions when family members confronted him and threatened them not to report the allegations or he would go to jail.

Caruso will remain in custody until his transport.

The judge also issued a comprehensive no contact order at Wednesday's hearing.
