Dramatic body camera video shows the moment police rescue two kidnapped sisters

ATLANTA (NBC, KYMA) - Dramatic body camera video captures Atlanta police arresting a babysitter accused of kidnapping two children in her care.

Footage captured shows police closing in on the trailer where Lakesha Brown was hiding with the two little girls she's accused of kidnapping.

Warrants described the trailer as an unclean and unsuitable with no air conditioning while it was 97 degrees outside.

The scene unfolded Monday after the mother reported to police that Brown had abducted her children when she failed to return them after an outing on Saturday, triggering an Amber Alert.

Warrants said Brown met the kids' mother on a pregnancy mom group on Facebook, and over the course of a year, gained that mom's trust.

The two little girls are now back with their mother, and are said to be in good health.

The warrants said Brown admitted she should have returned them when their mother asked, but could not provide a logical reason for not doing so.

She now faces four felony charges for kidnapping and first-degree cruelty to children, and she waived her first appearance at the Fulton County jail.

Police said Brown is also accused of kidnapping a four-day-old baby under similar circumstances in 2021. That baby also later reunited with his mom.
