Deputies announced charges against a suspect in the break in at late NASCAR driver Greg Biffle’s home

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (NBC, KYMA) - In North Carolina, Iredell County deputies announced charges Tuesday against a suspect in the break in at the home late NASCAR driver Greg Biffle.

Investigators said 44-year-old Terrell Williams broke into Biffle's home in early January, stealing multiple bags, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, two Glock handguns and NASCAR memorabilia.

The burglary happened just weeks after the Biffle family was killed in a plane crash at Statesville Regional airport.

Investigators connected Williams to the incident after he was charged in a different break-in in Cobb County, Georgia, where multiple items belonging to Biffle, including championship rings and other NASCAR items, were located at the scene.

Williams has now been tied to multiple break-ins across western North Carolina under various aliases.

Officials are working to secure a transfer to North Carolina, and said more charges are pending as investigation continues.
