CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Surveillance video shows a masked man running behind a woman jogging

PHILADELPHIA (CBS, KYMA) - Police in Philadelphia are searching for a suspect that was wearing a Chucky-style mask and allegedly threatened and chased at least a half dozen people around Philadelphia City Hall last Wednesday.

Police say the masked man asked one woman if she was ready to die.

Investigators are searching for a suspect who ran up to people and making threats in a 15 minute span.

Capt. Jason Smith, with the Philadelphia Police Department said the suspect is facing charges that include terroristic threats, simple assault and other offenses.

Officials say the threats started at around 5:18 a.m. Eastern, where the male suspect ran up to multiple people, attempting to scare and antagonize them.

Capt. Smith said the suspect was holding a cellphone with the light on and appeared to film the incidents.

Smith said it's unclear if the encounters were part of a social media trend.
