NEAR JONES BEACH, N.Y. (NBC, KYMA) - A whale was spotted breaching just off the shore of Jones beach Friday morning.
An NBC New York chopper was over Jones beach when it captured the whale breaching around 200 yards from the shore.
The whale was seen swimming right up next to a lifeguard boat, narrowly missing the two people on board.
Everyone on board appeared to be fine.
What a sight to see as the temperatures reach a record high in New York.
