People in Ireland wait in ‘massive’ line for special solar eclipse glasses

DUBLIN (CBS, KYMA) - People eager to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse waited in a "massive" line to get their hands on special glasses to safely watch the phenomenon.

Timelapse footage by Dublin Social shows the long line in the center of Dublin Wednesday.

According to The Journal, hundreds of people turned out over several hours to get access to the store Designist, which sold its entire stock of 2,400 eclipse glasses in one day.

"A once in a lifetime solar eclipse has Dubliners queuing for special glasses to catch a glimpse this evening," Dublin Social wrote on Instagram.

"It took me 90 seconds just to walk from one end to the other," the account wrote, adding in the caption that it was a "massive queue."
