Home in Illinois destroyed in explosion

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (NBC, KYMA) - Investigators are trying to determine what caused a house to explode in Champaign, Illinois Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the area of Judith and Centennial Drive just after noon after a neighbor reported a home explosion.

When crews arrived, they found a single-story house had completely collapsed and was on fire.

Two neighboring homes were also damaged in the blast.

Fire officials said investigators are working to determine the cause, and they believe no one was inside the home when the explosion happened.
