One injured following house explosion in Ohio

CANTON, Ohio (CBS, KYMA) - One person was seriously injured after a house explosion in Canton, Ohio Wednesday, news outlets reported.

Canton Division Chief Steve Henderson told FOX 8 a man was taken to the hospital with burns to 80 percent of his body after the explosion threw him into the street.

Footage posted by Instagram user @malekjackson_8 shows debris strewn across the neighborhood and the burning shell of the home.

"Explosion shook my house at 4 am this morning, so I drove to the next street and this is what I see," he posted.

At least five homes were damaged in the explosion, Henderson said, and the home where the explosion happened was empty and on sale at the time.

The home was already destroyed when firefighters arrived, Henderson added.
