Indiana State Police officer hit and killed by suspect in stolen vehicle

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ind. (NBC, KYMA) - Indiana State Police confirmed a Marshall was hit and killed by a suspect in a stolen vehicle in Randolph County.

State police say at about 8:30 a.m. this morning local time a Randolph County Sheriff's Deputy spotted a stolen vehicle and managed to identify the person driving it.

Authorities say a 34 year old woman with multiple warrants was behind the wheel.

Investigators say the deputy pulled over the suspect but then tried to flee authorities.

Marshal Brad Fisher of Lynn Town tried to set out a tire deflation system when the suspect crashed into him and then into a truck.

The victim has been identified as bBad Fisher, a 25 veteran of law enforcement.

Authorities say the suspect was taken to a local hospital and will then be taken to jail while a prosecutor makes a decision on charges.
