CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Security footage shows home shaking during Japan earthquake

(CBS, KYMA) - Shocking security footage captured the moment an earthquake shook a home in southern Japan Tuesday.

The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that a 7.1-magnitude earthquake happened at a depth of 10 km in the region of Kumamoto at 4:27 p.m. Japan Standard Time.

Footage published by X user @Suenagazemi said that it shows intense shaking at their home in Kumamoto during the earthquake.

At least one person was confirmed to have been killed after being taken to a hospital from a collapsed house in Yatsushiro, a city in Kumamoto Prefecture, according to Kyodo News.

NHK reported that multiple people have been reported missing, and that the full extent of damage is not yet known.
