CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Texas officer saves man from burning car

(NBC, KYMA) - A Texas police officer has been recognized for his courage after pulling a man from a burning car.

While making a traffic stop last month in Southlake, Texas, Corp. Joshua Swisher said he noticed smoke coming from another vehicle passing by.

The officer ran to the burning vehicle and screamed "get out" to the driver.

When he couldn't open the driver's side door, Corp. Swisher broke the window and pulled the motorist to safety.

Swisher was honored for his actions by the Southlake Department of Public Safety.

As for the driver who was pulled over for speeding, he received a warning.
