Body cam footage shows Nevada governor being pulled over by police

LAS VEGAS (NBC, KYMA) - Police body camera video shows Gov. Joe Lombardo (R-Nev.) being pulled over in a traffic stop back in May.

In a statement, Gov. Lombardo's campaign said he and his wife were heading to the airport when the stop happened.

In the video, the governor, who is seated behind the wheel, identifies himself simply by his first and last name before the officer explains that he failed to stop at a red light before making a right turn.

The entire interaction lasts less than 20 seconds, and Lombardo is let go without a ticket.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the governor did not receive a citation, but did not say why.
