CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Fatal ICE shooting caught on security camera

BIDDEFORD, Maine. (NBC, KYMA) - Security camera video showing the moments before and after a fatal shooting involving ICE agents in Biddeford, Maine Monday has surfaced.

In the video, there is a white vehicle begin to slowly drive in circles as ICE agents, on foot, apparently try to stop the car and open the driver's door.

An agent eventually fired inside the vehicle killing a 26-year-old man from Colombia. The victim's name is being withheld at the request of his family.

Two organizations, Presente! and the Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition, say the man was authorized to work in the United States and had been issued a Social Security number.

NBC News is also reporting that, according to Sen. Angus King's (I-Maine) office, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told the senator that the man killed was not the target of an arrest warrant.

An ICE spokesperson released a statement concerning the incident saying in part, that agents were "conducting targeted surveillance on the last known address of an illegal alien with a final order of removal, and "an illegal alien departed the residence in a vehicle. ICE law enforcement attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. The vehicle attempted to flee the scene and fearing for public safety an officer discharged his weapon."

The statement did not say whether the person was the subject of the surveillance. ICE did not mention any other person as being in the vehicle.
