Crews in Oregon rescue injured man after being trapped under boulder

MOUNT HOOD, Ore. (CBS, KYMA) - A man is seriously injured after being trapped underneath a large boulder on Mount Hood in Oregon Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Firefighters responded to a report of an injured man around 10:18 a.m. Sunday.

The fire department said the rescue was especially challenging due to the surrounding terrain being "steep and difficult."

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, the man was attempting to descend from Mount Hood when he became trapped under the boulder.

He was still conscious, breathing and able to talk to first responders when they reached him.
