Bear removed from Colorado home after falling asleep in basement window

FALCON, Colo. (CBS, KYMA) - Wildlife officers relocated a 250-pound male bear Tuesday after it snuck into a basement well of a home and fell asleep.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Southeast Region (CPW) said officers responded to reports of the bear in the basement window well in Falcon.

Officers immobilized the bear before bringing him through the window and into the home, CPW added.

The homeowner and neighbors helped officers carry the bear upstairs and outside into a wildlife trailer.

Officials said the bear was given a reversal drug and was transported and released into appropriate bear habitat.

Footage released by CPW shows the bear sleeping in the window well and the tricky operation to remove it.
