Inferno sparked during severe storm in North Texas

SPRINGTOWN, Texas (CBS, KYMA) - A large fire was sparked in a field in Springtown, Texas Saturday during a "dangerous and life-threatening" storm in northern Texas that produced an EF1 tornado.

Two people died and at least 20 families were displaced from the storms in northern Texas, according to AP.

Rumors of a local gas plant catching fire in Springtown circulated online, but were debunked by local officials.

"There has not been any damage or fire reported at the gas plant on the northside of the City. There was a reported fire in the 800 block of North Avenue B at the beginning of the storm," the City of Springtown said in a statement.

Video filmed by Dylan Tremont shows the moment the sky lit up in orange during the thunderstorm.
