ICE agents detain 13 people at driver’s licence center in Pennsylvania

(CBS, KYMA) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested 13 people at a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) driver's license center in Kittanning on Friday, according to news reports.

Footage filmed by Sherry Reinsel shows scenes from the PennDOT center, where several individuals were lined up inside and outside.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) told news outlet KDKA-TV that ICE agents arrested 13 individuals outside the center, describing them as "illegal aliens" from countries that included Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.

One of the individuals resisted arrest and assaulted a local officer, DHS said.

Frontline Dignity, a Pittsburgh-based ICE rapid response group, posted a statement on Facebook saying that "an alleged website error" was directing people to the Kittanning center for in-person Commercial Driver License (CDL) renewals, despite the service not being available there.

The group claimed that ICE agents were called to the center by a neighbor.
