One dead, two injured in Old Dominion University shooting

NORFOLK, Va. (CBS, KYMA) - Police are investigating a shooting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia that claimed the life of one victim and injured two others.

The university said it happened Thursday morning inside its Business School Building. Students recall hearing screams and being told to run.

"My heart dropped. I didn't really know what was going on. I just know I had to leave immediately. So it was pretty scary at that point because I didn't know really what was going on or how close, you know, the threat was. So, it was terrifying, I just knew I had to leave from the direction everybody was running," said Zachary Mulder, a student at Old Dominion University.

Police say when officers arrived, the shooter was dead, and says the two surviving victims appear to be in stable condition.

Classes have been canceled for the rest of the day and Friday.
