Hawaii governor announces plans regarding severe weather impacting the state

(KYMA, NBC) - Gov. Josh Green (D-Hawaii), along with state emergency management and public safety officials, is holding a press conference Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release obtained by NBC News, this is to announce plans regarding the severe weather that will impact Hawaii, outline current conditions and urge residents to take precautions as "heavy rain, flash flooding, severe thunderstorms and damaging winds continue statewide."

In addition to Gov. Green, Adjutant General Stephen Logan, Department of Education Superintendent Keith Hayashi and John Bravender with the National Weather Service are participating in the press conference.
