Police in Ohio chase man who hid in garbage can after fleeing traffic stop

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (CBS, KYMA) - Police in Huber Heights, Ohio arrested a man who allegedly fled a traffic stop and took refuge in a trash can Monday.

A Huber Heights Police Department (HHPD) officer was conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle when the suspect fled on foot.

The officer "briefly lost sight" of the suspect and "quickly established a perimeter" in the area, police said.

Dash cam footage released by HHPD shows a garbage collector roll a trash can towards a truck. The worker opens the can and jumps back before pointing the police officer towards the trash.

The suspect then jumps out and flees the scene as a police officer gives chase. Police said the suspect was taken into custody "without injury to anyone involved."
