Bodycam footage shows moments after father fatally shoots daughter in Texas
PROSPER, Texas (CBS, KYMA) - Recently released bodycam footage shows the moments after a British woman was fatally shot by her father during a visit to his Prosper, Texas home on January 10, 2025.
Bodycam footage, released by the Cheshire Coroner's Court, shows Kris Harrison speaking with an officer from the Prosper Police Department following the shooting of his 23-year-old daughter, Lucy Harrison.
"We were getting ready to go to the airport and we were talking about guns and she said, 'Do you got a gun?' I said, 'Yes, I got it out,' and it just went off as she stood there," Harrison told police. "As I pulled it out, it went off."
The police then ask where the gun was prior to the shooting.
"It was in the bedside cabinet. In a lock box. We took it out to look, and just as I picked it up it went off," Harrison told police.
On February 11, 2026, after an inquest into Harrison's death, a coroner's court ruled she was killed
"unlawfully" by her father, local outlet KDFW reported.
The ruling, filed in Cheshire Coroner’s Court, in Warrington, England came after a Texas grand jury decided not to indict Kris Harrison in June 2025, according to The Liverpool Echo.
