Carriage horse crashes into several vehicles in New York City

NEW YORK CITY (CBS, KYMA) - A startled carriage horse from New York City's Central Park crashed into several vehicles after running into traffic, news outlets reported, citing police.

Video released by animal rights activist group NYCLASS shows two angles of the horse running into traffic on January 8.

The first video shows the animal bolting out of the park, and the second dashcam angle shows the carriage crashing into several stopped vehicles.

The group said members of the public "ran out of the way to avoid being trampled."

"These incidents keep happening because frightened horses instinctively run, and chaotic city streets are fundamentally incompatible with them.," they added.

No injuries to people were reported, and the horse, Destiny, was also uninjured.
