December 8 is National Brownie Day
(CNN, KYMA) - It is one of America's favorite desserts. Millions of people love brownies, and Monday, December 8 marks National Brownie Day.
Whether you like them plain, with nuts, or a la mode, brownies have been a staple of American life for more than a century.
The earliest recipes date back to the 1900s. Cookbooks and even newspapers published recipes between 1904 and 1906.
While blonde brownies also are popular, experts say most Americans prefer the chocolate brownie. Blonde brownies, though, are a close second.
