CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Animals at an Illinois zoo enjoy the snow

BROOKFIELD, Ill. (NBC, KYMA) - Some furry creatures at a Illinois zoo took delight in the fresh snowfall over the weekend.

Footage captured by Brookfield Zoo Chicago shows Tim the Brown Bear rolling around in the snow Saturday.

The snowfall didn't seem to bother a bison in the zoo.

The Midwest and Great Lakes are caught in a major snowstorm, with forecasters saying the northeast U.S. could get its own early winter storm this week.

The storm dumped more than eight-inches of snow on Northern Iowa by Saturday morning, and at least that much snow was expected in Chicago as well as other parts of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan.

Airports in Chicago and St. Louis reported delays of about an hour Saturday morning, according to Flightaware.com.

Snow-covered roads and slow travel was also reported across Iowa and northern Illinois and Indiana.
