One person injured following house explosion in New Mexico
UPDATE (1:33 PM): A security camera caught the moment a house exploded in Albuquerque, New Mexico Sunday.
The video shows a flash of light before a cloud of flames and debris can be seen rising from the home in the distance.
According to Albuquerque Fire Rescue, one person was seriously injured in the explosion.
Responding fire crews quickly got the fire under control, but a nearby home also sustained damage.
New Mexico Gas Company took multiple readings at the scene after the explosion, but didn't detect any leaks in the area around the home.
Fire investigators are looking into the incident and what caused it.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (NBC, KYMA) - One person was left seriously injured following a house explosion in Albuquerque, New Mexico late Sunday night.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue has released images and video from the scene that night on social media.
Multiple crews responded to reports of a "residential home explosion" and fire. One person was rescued from inside the home and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
A nearby home also sustained damage from the explosion, but no one inside was hurt.
At least one neighbor reported a funny smell in the air at the time of the blast, but no gas leaks were detected by officials on the scene afterwards.
The cause of the explosion is still ongoing.
