High winds force fire crew in Texas to take shelter in a nearby garage

HOUSTON (CBS, KYMA) - A fire truck camera captured the moment firefighters took shelter in a nearby garage as high winds whipped through a Houston neighborhood Monday.

Cy-Fair Fire Department said their Engine 11 crew temporarily took shelter in the garage due to the wind.

"We're grateful for the community's support. Everyone is safe and back in service," the fire department wrote on Facebook.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said a strong thunderstorm, which had shown signs of rotation, was moving through Houston Monday.

The NWS later issued a tornado watch for Houston and the surrounding region, with winds predicted to reached upwards of 70 mph.
