Woman convicted of ‘Slender Man’ stabbing found
(NBC, KYMA) - Morgan Geyser, who was convicted of stabbing her sixth grade classmate to please fictional horror character "Slender Man," has been apprehended in Illinois.
Geyser, now 22, cut off her monitoring device and left a group home in Madison, Wisconsin Saturday night.
Police in Illinois say they located Geyser sleeping outside of a truck stop Sunday night. She has found with another person, but her relationship to that person has not been established.
Geyser is expected to be extradited back to Wisconsin some time Monday.
She was 15-years-old when a judge sentenced her to a maximum of 40-years in a mental hospital for the 2014 stabbing attack.
However, in January, a judge ruled that Geyser should be released from that hospital and be placed in a group home.
She is expected to face additional charges for cutting off her monitor and leaving the group home.
Geyser was 12-years-old when she and another girl carried out the brutal stabbing of a classmate. The victim did survive the attack.
