David Beckham knighted by King Charles

(CBS, KYMA) - Soccer star David Beckham was awarded his long-coveted knighthood on November 4 after being named in King Charles's birthday honors list during the summer.

Video from the British Royal Family's social media shows Charles knighting the retired England captain and entrepreneur at a ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Beckham was recognized for "Services to Sport and to Charity," the Royal Family said.

Beckham also shared the moment on social media saying in part, "I am truly humbled and so grateful for this honour. I have been fortunate to represent our country and I've always done that with pride...I love our Royal Family and what it means to people not just in Great Britain but around the world."
