Two girls injured after being thrown from Ferris wheel in Louisiana

NEW ROADS, La. (NBC, KYMA) - Two girls were left with injuries Saturday after they were thrown from a Ferris wheel in Louisiana

It happened at the Harvest Festival in New Roads when the Ferris wheel seat holding the children tipped over, dumping them 15 to 20 feet onto the ground.

Video of the incident shows people rushing over to help the girls while video captured shows a ride bucket being locked in place.

Both girls, around the age of 11, were taken to the Children's Hospital in Baton Rouge with undisclosed injuries, but they are expected to be okay.

The Louisiana State Fire Marshals are now investigating and the Ferris wheel remains shuttered.
