SpaceX completes 11th test flight for its Starship rocket

CAMERON COUNTY, Texas (NBC, KYMA) - SpaceX has completed another successful test flight of its massive Starship rocket Monday.

The Starship mega-rocket roared into space from the southern tip of Texas Monday evening on its 11th test flight mission.

During the hour-long flight, Starship repeated a key test from its previous flight, the deployment of eight mock Starlink satellites, which went off smoothly with loud cheers from mission control.

The flight came to an end with the booster successfully splashing down in the Indian Ocean.

This is the final test flight of this Starship rocket before SpaceX debuts a new scaled up prototype for the next mission.

The test flights are an opportunity for SpaceX to iron out issues that could potentially arise in future missions, including NASA's plan to land Artemis astronauts on the moon.
