CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Water rises along Jersey Shore

(CBS, KYMA) - Waters rose along the Jersey Shore Sunday after the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of potential "major coastal flooding" across the East Coast amid a nor'easter.

Footage filmed by X user @kaytlyinann shows high water levels along a dock in West Wildwood, New Jersey Sunday afternoon.

"It's already flooding look at how high the tide is," she said.

The NWS said coastal flood and high wind warnings would be in effect for West Wildwood and other surrounding areas until Monday.

New Jersey Governor Tahesha Way declared a state of emergency to prepare for the "dangerous nor'easter storm."

"Starting on Sunday, a dangerous coastal storm will begin to move past our state with extreme weather conditions for several counties, especially those on the Shore," Way said.
