Heavy rain floods parts of Central Florida

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (NBC, KYMA) - Heavy rain in Central Florida caused flooding in several neighborhoods Friday afternoon.

Strong winds and non-stop rain impacted New Smyrna Beach, with the area receiving more than seven inches of rainfall.

Some neighborhoods were left partially underwater, causing dangerous driving conditions.

In Hallandale Beach, police officers were seen using high-water rescue jeeps to look for anyone who needed help.

While there was a spike in the amount of accidents due to the weather, there were no injuries reported from the weather system.
