Suspect in Charlie Kirk’s assassination appears in court
UPDATE (12:59 PM): A brief court hearing was held Monday for Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old Washington County man charged with shooting and killing Charlie Kirk on the campus of Utah Valley University.
During the waiver hearing, both legal teams pledged to work together concerning discovery which the prosecution described as "voluminous."
Defense attorneys requested another waiver hearing be set prior to scheduling a preliminary hearing to give them time to "get our heads around" the large amount of discovery coming from the prosecution.
Robinson did not appear in court or on camera, opting to only listen to the proceeding from the Utah County Jail.
Fourth District Judge Tony Graf set the next waiver hearing for October 30.
Judge Graf also confirmed that the constitutional rights of both the suspect and the victims will be protected during the trial.
