CBS affiliate in Virginia honors Alison Parker and Adam Ward ten years later

ROANOKE, Va. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - August 26 marks ten years since the deaths of WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and photojournalist Adam Ward.

The pair were killed while reporting on a story for their morning broadcast.

Outside the station is a permanent memorial to the journalists, with messages reading:

  • Adam Ward: "He filled the world with his smile, laughter and kindness. Remember to be more #ADAMLIKE."
  • Alison Parker: "A light that burned so bright in the world that even now the light remains."

WDBJ, a CBS affiliate, held a moment of silence on-air at 6:46 a.m. Eastern, as they've done every year since the tragedy.
