Aussie Ark welcomes two newborn Tasmanian devils

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Two newborn Tasmanian devils were given their first health checks alongside a gender reveal at Aussie Ark, a conservation organization located in Barrington Tops, New South Wales.

The joeys, named Peanut Butter and Jelly, were born to Vegemite, a hand-raised Tasmanian devil also born at the sanctuary.

"We are so proud of Vegemite. She has transitioned so well into being a healthy, happy, wild-living devil...helping save her species from extinction with these two precious joeys," Aussie Ark Operations Manager Dean Reid said in a press release.

"It's the kind of full circle conservation success story we love here at Aussie Ark," he added.

Video provided by the organization shows the joeys being weighed and swaddled.
